Endicott, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A dozen local softball powers will team up this weekend in the fight against cancer.
Union-Endicott, Vestal and Maine-Endwell will play host to the annual Coaches and Players versus Cancer Mary Testa softball tournament.
It's a chance to showcase some of the local talent while raising money for the American Cancer Society.
The tournament usually raises between 25-hundred and 3-thousand dollars through t-shirt sales and concessions.
"I think they're pretty proud to be a part of it. I've talked to some of the girls that have graduated and such and they're pretty proud to be part of something that has done some good for the community, maybe helped some of their relatives out," says U-E head coach and tournament organizer Jim Testa.
The tournament runs Saturday with games starting at 10 in the morning and running through the afternoon, with a champion being crowned at each site.
