We are less than a week from kickoff of the high school football season.
And just like the coaches, we still have a lot of work to do.
We'll try and get you ready for kickoff as we tear through our final week of previews.

We'll start the week in Harpursville, where the Hornets were 4-4 last year.
And a few years ago that would have been something special, but now they want more.
With an experienced group back, and a year of coach Tim Petras' offensive system in place, the Hornets want to make some noise.

Coach Tim Petras says, "What we've said from day 1 is that finishing .500 is not good enough. We're setting the bar at a winning season and beyond. We're trying to set up something here for the long term, something that Harpursville football is going to represent. Again it all starts with high expectations and the kids really bought into that and the commitment and effort in the weight room and the practice field have been very impressive."

Senior Mason Dean adds, " We're not shooting for .500 this season, we are going for the playoffs. We feel like we have a strong team and we have a chance to do it, so why not?"
