Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The University at Albany gained a new track runner on Tuesday, and she's a successful one. Binghamton High School's Jasmine Howard is a two-time STAC champion runner and has made the trip to states each year as a Patriot.

Now, she'll try to keep that good karma going as a Great Dane.

She signed her letter of intent to run for the purple and gold because it just felt right.

"What drew me to Albany, partially, was their science program -- they have a really good science program there, but it was also their track program," said Howard. "I looked into it a lot and their track is like a family. Their biochemistry program is amazing and it's just the perfect fit for me."

As she mentioned there, Jasmine plans to study biochemistry at Albany.
