Late goal helps Spartans win Sectional Title

Endicott, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Maine-Endwell's Alexis Garbarino scored with less than 30 seconds remaining to put the Spartans up for good in the girl's lacrosse Section IV Class C Championship Thursday.

The goal gave Maine-Endwell a 14-13 victory over Owego, and helped the Spartans earn a spot in the state playoffs.

In Class B, Vestal and Horseheads were tied at three with nine minutes remaining in the first half when the game was postponed due to weather. That game will resume Wednesday at Union-Endicott at 5:30 p.m.

Corning held on to win the Class A Section IV Title over Ithaca, 13-11.
