Nearly 60 Teams to Compete in Local Softball Tournament

Town of Dickinson, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The annual Broome County Stop DWI Tournament of champions returns to BAGSAI this weekend.

Nearly 60 teams from the East coast and Canada will participate in this year's event.

Event organizer Lou Bishop says this could be one of the deepest fields to ever participate.

"Teams from Pennsylvania, New York, Massachusetts, Maryland, Illinois and this year something different. We haven't had in a long, long time, we have 4 of the top teams out of Canada out of the province of Ontario coming to the tournament," says tournament director Lou Bishop.

There will also be nearly 100 college coaches on hand to recruit some of the athletes.

The tournament starts with a coaches clinic on Thursday.

Games will start on Friday morning at all 4 BAGSAI fields.

The tournament will run all weekend.

It's free and open to the public.
