Owego, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Owego FA fell just short of a playoff berth last season. The Indians lost to Johnson City last year in the final game of the regular season...a game that knocked the Indians out of the playoffs.

But last year's team was a young one...and coach Steve Virkler believes that experience should translate into results this year.

"We lost two close ones, we lost a close one to Windsor right off the bat and another one to Norwich week two," said Virkler. "We were young last year, we had six sophomores that started for us and we weren't able to pull those out. If we had done that in the beginning of the season, who knows what would have happened, so certainly we're trying to reach the playoffs every year. We've been on a dry spell the last two years, so hopefully we can change that."

"We've got a lot of young guys coming up and we are really going to be ready to come out this year and do well," said senior Jonathon Ripic.

Owego hits the road to face Corning week one.
