Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) They've got a new, big, strong armed quarterback.
A new offensive system.
And some big hopes for a playoff run at Seton Catholic Central.
The team returns several lineman, a running back and wide receivers.
But the Saints are most excited about a new addition...6 foot 5 inch quarterback Caleb Scepaniak.
Scepaniak transferred to Seton from Vestal.
And players and coaches are excited about what he brings to the table.
"With him as our quarterback, we're going to be able to do a lot of things we haven't been. Last year, we had a really fast quarterback, this year we have an alright speed wise quarterback but he's going to be able to throw the long ball so people have to be ready," says senior wide receiver Alex Newman.
"He definitely has the arm strength to throw the ball and just being 6'5, being able to step up in the pocket and read the defense, see what's going on...I think it is a big help for us," says head coach Zach Boyko.
Defensively, the team says they are a lot faster on defense, especially at linebacker.
Seton opens up its season at home against Greene on Saturday, September 3rd.
