Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) While there were champions being crowned at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena this weekend, Section 4 took time out to honor 13 former athletes and coaches.

Those athletes were inducted into the Section IV Sports Hall of Fame.

This year's inductees include Katherine Almeter, Joseph Downey and Jason James from Norwich, Joel Bennett and Ken Jayne from Windsor, Mike Chrystie from Oxford, Keith Thompson from Cherry Valley, Mickey Greenberg from Vestal, Mary Morrison from Sidney, Teresa Palmer from Moravia, Duane Rinker from Maine-Endwell, Mike D'Aloisio from Elmira Notre Dame and Bill Limoncelli from Elmira Free Academy and Elmira Southside.

"When it first happens, you're excited and you never expect this to come but it's a great honor. So many great athletes in this area and its nice to see people getting some accolades, some of the things we heard about some of these people and what they accomplished is amazing so it's a great honor," says Bennett.

"Having seen all the accomplishments of the past inductees and this year's current class, both coaches and athletes, it's an honor to be inducted with the current class this year," says Chrystie.

It's the 40th year that Section IV has inducted people into the hall of fame.
