Southern Tier girls move onto BCANY semifinals

Johnson City, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The Southern Tier girls squad split its pair of games on Saturday, and moved onto Sunday's semifinals at the BCANY Summer Hoops Festival at the Johnson City Middle School and Elementary school.

In the first game of the day, the Southern Tier fell 76-64 to the team from Nassau. In the nightcap, the girls squad jumped all over Adirondack to a 84-67 win.

The Southern Tier will face Rochester in Sunday's semifinals at 11:15 a.m. In the other semifinal, Nassua matches up with Hudson Valley. The finals take place at 2:30 p.m.

The Southern Tier boys squad continued to struggle on Saturday dropping to 0-3 on the tournament with a 76-62 loss to Adirondack.

They'll play their final game of the tournament on Sunday at 8:45 a.m.
