Town of Dickinson, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The Maine-Endwell girls softball team struggled at times during the season, but won when they needed to, to advance to the state playoffs.

The Spartans went 5 and 8 during the season.

But they were able to score 5 runs in the 6th inning en route to a 6-4 win over Owego in the Class B sectional championship game to earn a trip to the state playoffs.

The Spartans know if they want to continue this run, they have to play their best both offensively and defensively.

And the biggest key, they say, win or lose, they're a family and they must play for each other.

This is the Spartans first trip to the state playoffs in 3 seasons.
