A few schools have canceled after-school activities today.
Weather predictions call for heavy rains tonight and the chance of flash-flooding, so everyone has been sent home at Vestal and Union-Endicott.
The hope is still for the Tigers to play host to the big football game of the weekend.

U-E is set to host Maine-Endwell Saturday night in the first game on the Ty Cobb Stadium turf this season.
It also happens to be one of the bigger games of the season between teams that have good reason to be rivals now.

" We're up for the challenge. It's a great thing for section 4 football and high school football. Two teams that happen to be undefeated and cross town rivals and actually for the first time ever it actually means something because they're in our division. So I think it's great for football and we're looking forward to it. It's going to be a great atmosphere."

" We're working hard every day in practice and making sure we stay focused."

Both are 1-0 in division 2, having both handled Horseheads with the same ease.
The game is set for a 7:00 kickoff in Endicott on Saturday night.
