Johnson City, NY (WBNG Binghamton) For the second year in a row, the Johnson City school district will host some of the best high school basketball talent in the state.
It's all part of the Basketball Coaches Association of New York Summer Hoops Festival.
The tournament was created to replace the Empire State games.
9 boys and 9 girls teams will compete this year.
It gives high schools players from around the state the chance to play with other players from their area.
"These girls have played some of the other players from the teams in the other areas in sectionals and whatever but its nice to get the kids from the same section playing with each other," says Southern Tier girls coach Kurt Ehrensbeck.
Games will start Friday at 4:00 pm and run through the night Friday
and Saturday.
Championship games will be on Sunday.
All games will be held at either Johnson City high school or the elementary/middle school.
