One player several people will be keeping on eye on is Vestal's sophomore quarterback Caleb Scepaniak.
National recruiting expert Tom Lemming has named Scepaniak on his list of the top 50 sophomore high school players in the country.
He's the only player from the entire state of New York on that list.
Vestal Coach Tank Anderson says Scepaniak got his name out there the right way, by attending camps and letting his performance speak for itself.
"On the positive side, he's improved his game immensely from last year to this year. You can see it in the way he throws and just how he carries himself. It's a nice honor for him and for us," Anderson says.
Scepaniak will lead the Golden Bears during the team's first game, Friday night at Waverly.
