Wasilnak's late single keys win for Post 1700

Binghamton (WBNG BINGHAMTON) Trailing 2-1 in the bottom of the seventh inning, Nick James laid down a squeeze bunt to tie the game and Jason Wasilnak hit a walk-off single to right field, pushing Maine-Endwell Post 1700 past Horseheads, 3-2, in the first day of the American Legion District 6 tournament at Conlon Field.

The winner of the tournament advances to the state tournament in Utica.

In other action, Vestal Post 89 defeated Binghamton Post 80, 5-0. Vestal's Nick Wegmann tossed 16 strikeouts as part of a two-hitter.

Johnson City Post 1305 beat Binghamton Post 1645, 3-0.

Endicott Post 82 beat Johnson City 1305, 7-1.

Cortland Crown City Royals beat Oneonta Post 259, 8-1.
