Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton)

Binghamton High School's Andre Yevchinecz made things official this afternoon. Yevchinecz signed his letter of intent to play football at Wagner next season.

He's the second local gridiron star to sign with Wagner from the area this spring, as U-E's Caleb Scepaniak also signed with the school. Andre said he's just excited to continue to leave his mark, even after leaving Binghamton.

" I was very excited, mostly just to make everyone that I've played with and played for, coaches and my family, to make them proud. And hopefully to be able to represent Binghamton the best I can."

After playing mostly quarterback over the past few seasons for the Patriots, Yevchinecz said he's likely to play defensive back or receiver for Wagner.

Yevchinecz said he's also excited about the chance to play Syracuse in the Carrier Dome next season. That game was just made official when the Orange released its football schedule earlier this week.
