    Thiells, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Top-ranked Clarkstown South shut down Binghamton in the Class AA regionals, while Pearl River's walk-off single in the eighth inning eliminated Maine-Endwell from the Class A bracket.

  • Tioga wins big en route to Class C semis

    Vestal, NY (WBNG Binghamton) In the school's first baseball state playoff game since 1985, Tioga's bats cracked 13 hits and plated 8 runs, helping the Tigers cruise past Sauquoit Valley Saturday.

  • U-E, Windsor knocked out early in state playoffs

    Town of Union (WBNG Binghamton) Union-Endicott couldn't muster a run against Saugerties pitcher Nick Teitter, falling 3-0 in the NYSPHSAA Class A baseball sub-regional round. Elsewhere, the Windsor softball team was eliminated from the Class B bracket, while Deposit advanced to the Class D semifinals.

    Town of Dickinson, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The Binghamton softball team finally slayed the dragon this past weekend. After losing three times to Horseheads this season, the Patriots bashed their way past the Blue Raiders in the one that counts, the Section IV final.

    Ithaca, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Susquehanna Valley sophomore DJ Griffiths shot a round two 74 (+3) Monday to finish third at the 2015 NYPHSAA Boys Golf championships at Robert Trent Jones Golf Course in Ithaca.

    Town of Dickinson (WBNG Binghamton) Between the two programs, Windsor and Deposit have won a combined nine Section IV softball championships in the last five years. Both enter the 2015 NYSPHSAA state playoffs eager for a different kind of championship.

    Cicero, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Jamesville-Dewitt eliminated Vestal from the Class B boys state lacrosse tournament, 20-7, Sunday. It is the fifth consecutive season Vestal's season has ended at the hands of the Red Rams.

  • Championship Saturday: Section IV crowns five softball champions

    Town of Dickinson (WBNG Binghamton) Winless in its first three tries against Horseheads this season, Binghamton thrashed the Blue Raiders, 11-5, to win the program's first Section IV title since 2007 Saturday at SUNY Broome's BAGSAI complex.

  • Section IV baseball finals: It's the Tigers' time in Class A

    Town of Union, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Union-Endicott needed five runs in the seventh inning of its semifinal game just to get to the Section IV Class A finals on Friday. But when they got there the Tigers made the most of it, beating Vestal for the title.
