    JOHNSON CITY (WBNG BINGHAMTON) Maine-Endwell fell behind early and every proceeding rally was snuffed out by Red Hook. The Spartans were eliminated from the Class A state tournament, losing 68-57.

    JOHNSON CITY (WBNG BINGHAMTON) Victoria Dean tossed in 16 points to lead the Maine-Endwell girls basketball team to a runaway victory over Wallkill in the first round of the NYSPHSAA Class A playoffs.

  • Oneonta girls top Norwich, win Section IV in Class B

    BINGHAMTON (WBNG BINGHAMTON) Oneonta's girls basketball team earned another trip to the state championship bracket, topping Norwich 51-44.

  • Norwich clinches third straight Section IV title

    BINGHAMTON (WBNG BINGHAMTON) Lock down defense catapulted the Norwich boys to their third consecutive Section IV title in Class B. The Purple Tornado allowed just 28 points en route to a 40-28 win over Oneonta.

  • Harpursville punches another ticket to states

    BINGHAMTON (WBNG BINGHAMTON) Miranda Drummond scored 24 points to lead Harpursville to its second consecutive Section IV crown in Class C.

  • Spartans punch ticket to states with win over Owego

    BINGHAMTON (WBNG BINGHAMTON) Jake Sinicki scored 16 points and Kyle Gallagher chipped in with 13 to lead the Maine-Endwell boys basketball team to a Section IV championship in Class A.

  • M-E girls notch back-to-back Section titles

    BINGHAMTON (WBNG BINGHAMTON) In their quest to get back to the Class A state championship game, the Maine-Endwell girls faced very few obstacles this season. One of them was Vestal. The teams split the regular season 1-to-1, but in this one, for the Section VI crown, it was all Spartans.

  • U-E gets redemption on Elmira, wins Class AA crown

    Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) In early February, Elmira out-dueled Union-Endicott 93-91, which at the time halted the Tigers run towards a STAC divisional crown. It's a loss the Tigers remembered on Thursday night.

  • M-E wins in a shootout on the ice

    Town of Dickinson, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Neither team scored, but eventually Maine-Endwell outlasted Vestal 1-0, 4-3 in the shootout, to force a decisive game in the Broome County High School Hockey Association finals.
