  • Boys, girls STAC finals matchups set

    (WBNG Binghamton) Ithaca scored two first half goals and tacked on four more in the second half to breeze past Oneonta, 6-0, and earn a spot in the STAC finals on Monday. Ithaca will play Vestal, which beat Johnson City, 2-1, in extra time. On the girls' side, Chenango Forks shut out Elmira, 3-0, to advance to play Vestal in the final.

  • M-E wins 58th straight; SV grabs important win

    Town of Union, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Maine-Endwell's Michael Palmer caught a touchdown, returned a punt for a touchdown and picked off a couple of passes as the Spartans won their 58th straight game, beating Union-Endicott 37-7.

  • Newark Valley rebounds with key win at Sidney

    Sidney, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Newark Valley rebounded from its first loss of the season by winning a key divisional game at Sidney, 35-18. Also in this story: wins from Greene, Walton, Tioga and Deposit-Hancock.

  • Wildcats earn home playoff game, top Vestal, 34-27

    Johnson City, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Johnson City pulled away in the second half and staved off a late Vestal rally to clinch a home sectional playoff game, beating the Golden Bears, 34-27. The two teams will play again at Johnson City in the Class A sectional semifinals.

  • Vestal stays unbeaten, tops Seton in STAC semis

    Endicott, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A second half goal off the foot of Rachel Wallace was the only score as Vestal beat Seton, 1-0, in the STAC girl's soccer semifinals.

    Town of Chenango, NY (WBNG Binghamton) For the second time in three weeks Chenango Forks does not have a football game to play this weekend. That's because Lansing has forfeited Friday night's game against the Blue Devils because of a lack of healthy players.

  • Back-to-back big games for Vestal

    Vestal, NY (WBNG Binghamton) For the first time in 11 tries Vestal beat rival Union-Endicott on the football field last Friday night. The win lifted a giant weight off of the Golden Bears shoulders, but all it did was make this week's game even bigger.
