Spartans Come Up Short in Title Defense

The defending state champions from Maine-Endwell came up short in their quest to repeat.

The Spartans lost to W.T. Clarke from Long Island 9-6 in the Class A Semifinals this morning at Broome Community College.

M-E led 4-1 but ran out of pitching, allowing Clarke to come back via bases loaded walks.

The Spartans finish the season 19-4.
