" It's really what have you done for me lately. You have to keep everything in check and make sure you're good to go for every game."
In that regard, Brian Elliott has done quite a bit.
He's played in more games than any other goalie in the AHL this season, and won more games than any other netminder.
An effort that has grabbed the attention of the parent club, and takes him full circle from his season a year ago.

After a slow start to the season, Elliott lost the starting job to Jeff Glass.
But slowly Elliott rounded into form, finishing the season with respectable statistics, and came into this year ready to prove what he could do.
Coach Cory Clouston says, " The biggest thing is his work ethic. He's very athletic but I think he's worked hard to make adjustments to his game. And the big thing is he's mentally stronger. He's a lot more consistent, he can play back to back games, he can play a lot of games in a short period of time."
Local fans certainly didn't want to see him leave, but Ottawa management thinks he may be ready for the next step.
Elliott says, " I'd have to take their word for it. They've been in the business long enough and management knows what to do and when to do it. I just put my trust in that and if I'm patient and I keep playing the same way I think things will take care of themselves."
Elliott may be returned to Binghamton, Ottawa management says they'll make that decision soon. That will come after a first hand look tonight as Elliott gets another start for the parent club at home against Carolina.
