For DJ Rivera, the bad was certainly being left off the first team all conference team. It was the first time in America East history that the conference's leading scorer was not on the first team.
But that glaring omission has been brought to the national spotlight, with questions to the motive of some coaches.
"I understand very clearly when you win people get better I guess. It's not for me to judge or me to question if they are rebelling against me or them. We're doing it the right way we play hard and people will say what they want to say.
But that is not too much bad but the publicity for me and also from a team.
What comes along with winning you take it on the chin take it on the chest and just keep going."
Four of the 5 players on the America East first team are done playing, while DJ and the Bearcats have much more important things to worry about.
" Have a bigger and better things. Awards for these guys is not the most important thing. The biggest award is winning this Saturday that would be rewarding."
"I take it is all good. We're in the championship and that's all I'm happy about right now."
