Six years ago Dave williams stepped down as head football coach at Vestal high school.
Back then he said don't be surprised to see him back coaching someday.
And sure enough, Williams is back on those same sidelines coaching again. But as we find out in this week's action sports spotlight, it's a whole new ball game for him.
" I didn't think i'd be doing this but it's been great I love doing with the kids they play hard and it's been an enjoyable experience."
It seems part of the reason Dave Williams stepped away from coaching football was that it stopped being enjoyable.
Now, if you're surprised he's picked girl's lacrosse to make his return, don't be.

" Well actually seven years ago I was one of the people that started the sport. We just did scrimmages and stuff. When we started playing games coaching football I just couldn't do two so I stepped away. "
Lacrosse is one thing, but to go from coaching boys to coaching girls six years later would seem to be the biggest adjustment.
But rather than adjust to them it seems the girls have adjusted to the football coach.
" I coached girls basketball back in the 80's and girls softball. I've coached girls before. I tell you what I'd match these girls up against any boys that I coached as far as their determination. We're just enjoying it and hoping the kids can have a good experience and just try to give them a chance to have some success."
