The defining moment of the season came not on a shot, but a pass with less than half a second on the clock.....
The assist belongs to Rob Krowiak, Maine-Endwell grad and the conference's leading scorer and one half of one of the highest scoring backcourts in the country.
" It's actually perfect," says Krowiak. "Not to say we're not looking for anyone else on the court, but the 2 of us, we're trying to find each other."
What they both excel in is scoring, but both find different ways to do it.
" You would think that they both went to Binghamton or Maine-Endwell, one or the other," says head coach Jim Evans. "They've only been playing together for 5 months and it's like they've been playing together their whole lives. Wayne does his thing, getting into the paint..."
Davis adds, " When I'm driving, the defense is just collapsing and he's always open. I can just throw it out there and I know they won't get out there on him."
The danger with two stat sheet stuffers would be a battle for who gets it more. The reason that these Hornets are in first place is because those type of battles don't exist.
Rob jokes, " The one game he had 52 and I had 44. It was a career high for me and I still couldn't get enough."
Rob originally planned on going to Susquehanna University, but found out it wasn't right for him.
Wayne took a year off to get his academics straight.
Either could have been the number 1 option but are happy with how this situation plays out.
" It's pretty much been 1 and 1A," says Evans. "They're going to be the guys we're going to go to down the stretch. We know that, other teams know that, and I don't have a problem with that."
