Vestal, NY (WBNG Binghamton)

The Vestal girls soccer team has been red hot....so much so that coach Matt Wood needed to be cooled off.
His celebratory ice bath came at the end of Vestal's win in the section 4 finals.

In caps quite the turnaround since a loss in their final regular season game, and then another in the STAC finals.

" It's been evolving all season. We experienced a little bit of a plateau. We couldn't seem to get over it. We dropped a couple of games."

But how you finish October isn't what counts. What matters is how you finish November.
The Bears have senior leadership up front and in the back end, helping to build to something special.

" You just see it in practice all week long. We're coming back, we're excited and on the ball every time. You can see the fire in their eyes. And win or lose they're going to come out hard and play well the next game and we'll see how it works."

They open the state tournament against section 1 champ North Rockland.
