Spotlight

  • Jabbi Leads The Way

Vestal, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Mahamoud Jabbi transferred to Binghamton from d-3 SUNY Oswego. But that's hardly his biggest move. When he was 9 his family moved from Gambi to the Bronx. He only started playing basketball when he was 16, and focussed his attention on defense. But in this week's Mirabito Action Sports Spotlight, Gabe Osterhout looks how he's improved on the offensive end as well.

  • Backcourt Bearcats

Vestal, NY (WBNG Binghamton) For years the BU women's basketball team has been built from the inside out, with the offensive and defensive game centering on post players, with help sprinkled in at guard spots. More and more it has become clear that this team is different. We take a look at the new backcourt Bearcats in this week's action sports spotlight .

  • Local Contributions

Cortland, NY (WBNG Binghamton) This time of year it takes depth to win football games. Particularly on the college field. This week the Cortland State Red Dragons prepare for a second round game in the NCAA tournament, with 3 local section 4 grads adding to that depth.

  • All In The Family

Harpursville, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A high school basketball standout signed her letter of intent this afternoon. And for Harpursville senior Hannah Kimmel, signing on to play basketball at Sacred Heart was a family affair. We explain more in this week's action sports spotlight.

  • Action Sports Spotlight - Vestal Soccer

Vestal, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The Vestal girls soccer team has been red hot....so much so that coach Matt Wood needed to be cooled off. His celebratory ice bath came at the end of Vestal's win in the section 4 finals.

  • Set To Tip Off

Town of Dickinson, NY (WBNG Binghamton) " If we work together as a team, then we'll be tough to handle." The BCC Hornets are counting on conditioning.

  • Bald Cardinals

Newark Valley, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Earlier this season we told you about the Sidney football offensive line, a group that has refused to shave until their season is over. Their first round playoff opponent has another hairy issue. In this week's action sports spotlight we talk with the Newark Valley Cardinals, who are braving the baldness.

  • Air Sidney

(WBNG Binghamton) " We'd rather pass than run the ball. It's easy for us." That attitude is an unusual one, particularly in section 4 class "C" football.

  • Raising The Bar

Vestal, NY (WBNG Binghamton) A quick look at the BU women's basketball roster might lead you to believe they'll be good NEXT year. But this group isn't all that patient. They spent today's media day saying THIS is their year. We take a look in this week's action sports spotlight.

  • Action Sports Spotlight - U-E Girls Soccer

Endicott, NY (WBNG Binghamton) They graduated 15 seniors, including the class "AA" state player of the year. Their coach of 10 years stepped down, and in his place comes a coach in her first year.
