Endicott, NY (WBNG Binghamton)

One-on-one, U-E Tiger vs. U-E Tiger, and brother vs. sister. It's a match-up between Alexis and Matt Eastman that has been played countless times before, because you can't get much closer than these two. Alexis is just a minute older than Matt, a fact that makes their sibling rivalry as competitive as any.

"Her being better in the classroom definitely pushes me, but like I always say, I've got the looks in the family," said Matt.

Joking and kidding aside, that relationship between Matt and Alexis drives both of them to be better on the court and in the classroom.

"It definitely helps me because I'm always competitive with him and I do always want to outdo him," said Alexis. "So I have one-up on him."

"At home we compete with each other, like on the court or on the field and in the classroom," said Matt. "On tests we'll compare our grades and I'll try to beat her, and she'll try to beat me."

As the two will tell you, both may have high GPA's, but Alexis's is just a tad higher. Both may be good on the basketball court, but Matt a little bit better, and no where is that more apparent than when the two play one-on-one.

"I beat her every time," said Matt.

"Oh, it's pretty bad," said Alexis. "He kills me every time."

This game ended probably in a more civil manner than most of those driveway battles. However, win or lose Alexis and Matt are helping each other one jump shot and test at a time.

"I think it's great, especially in school, if I don't get something it's kind of like having another teacher at home," said Matt. "She can help me out with the homework or a day before the test."

That's what siblings are for, and is why these two are this week's Academic All-Stars.
