VESTAL (WBNG BINGHAMTON) A 2-0 start for the Binghamton men's lacrosse team would have been ideal, but it wasn't meant to be. B-U lost its home opener, 13-9 to Siena Saturday.

It was a stark contrast from their first game of the year, an 8-to-6 road win over Sacred Heart.

Granted, it's only 2 games into the season...and we're not in conference play either.

But coach Scott Nelson knows his team can play better.

If they can do it on the road, they can do it at home.

"Letting up six goals on the road was terrific, then we come home and let up 13, so that's disappointing, but it shows you how strong [Siena's] offense was," Nelson said. "We have a long way to go...a long way to go, we think we can get there, but we have a long way to go."

A daunting challenge lies ahead next for BU: the Bearcats welcome in Cornell on Tuesday, Feb. 25.
