Binghamton, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The B-Sens rank first in the entire AHL on the power play after going a perfect four-for-four on the man-up in Sunday's win at Bridgeport.

Binghamton is scoring on more than 30 percent of its power play opportunities, with Mike Hoffman leading the way with three goals on the man-up. Hoffman ranks fourth in the league in power play tallies.

That success has helped lead the B-Sens to a 4-2 start, a credit to some hard work and leadership on the ice.

"Well I think we've been working on it. You have a little more time once the season got going now and you start to settle in on who fits in where better," said coach Luke Richardson. "Credit to them, you can practice it all you want, but if you don't stick to the game plan and execute and move the puck quickly and make the other team move and catch them out of position, you're not going to score, do well or execute."

One of the key contributors since being sent down is Stephane Da Costa. Since joining the team last Friday, Da Costa has four assists in three games in Binghamton. Da Costa may not be thrilled to have been sent down, but Richardson said he brings a lot to the team.

"I'm sure I'm happier to see him than him to see me," Richardson said. " He came, he played really well the first game, I think it was a bit of a let down the last couple games, but I think that was probably reality setting in, but also he hasn't played as much up in Ottawa the last week or so. I think he's excited to get the chance just to play hockey again."

The B-Sens continue to give him that chance with two home games this weekend. The weekend begins with a visit from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, who is the team that knocked Binghamton out of the playoffs last season.
