Endicott, NY (WBNG Binghamton) By winning the 2013 Dick's Sporting Goods Open, Bart Bryant also made history. With the win, Bryant became the 1,000th winner in Champions Tour history.

Afterwards, "Mr. 1,000" sounded pretty good to the newest champion on tour.

"It feels pretty good," Bryant said. " I have to tell you to have Mr. [Don] January hand me that trophy as Mr. 1, it was pretty cool. That was quite an honor and it's something that me and my whole family will remember. It felt really good."

The Champions Tour rookie shot a record-tying 62 on Saturday to take a four-shot lead into the final round. However, nerves got to Bryant a bit on Sunday, which led to an exciting finish at En-Joie Golf Course.

"I think the course played tougher for everybody obviously, so I don't know if it was because you know I just haven't been in this position for so long and I've been out of the game for a while," said Bryant. "But I never just felt free to play my game, I was always kind of fighting myself and I hate that, but luckily I was able to hang in there and was able to do what it takes to get the win."

It may have been Bryant's first win on the Champions Tour, but it certainly wasn't his first victory on the PGA Tour. However, after battling wrist problems and having multiple surgeries, this victory just tasted a little sweeter.

"Well, it's awfully special because there was a time a couple of years ago where we thought my career was probably over, we were going into the second surgery and the first one didn't work," Bryant said. "You know I have three screws in [his wrist] now, it's not pretty. So to be out here playing, and to play well and be able to compete and pull off a win is just a real blessing, honestly."

His Sunday round was ten shots worse than what he recorded on Saturday, but it was just enough to become the Champions Tour's "Mr. 1,000".
