Endicott, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The Windsor softball team has a target on its back. The Black Knights are defending state champions, but believe it or not, as a whole, this team may be even better this time around.

Whether it was during Windsor's run to its first STAC Softball Title, or during the sectional tournament, different players have stepped up for the Black Knights.

That depth is something Windsor believes could be a big factor in them making a return to the state final four.

"I think this is the time of year when the unsung hero or the diamond in the rough has that opportunity to step up and really show what they can do," said coach Bill Waldron. "Fortunately for us, it has been anyone between four and half-a-dozen different kids that have had that opportunity to play that diamond in the rough."

"It's just everybody on this team really pulls through for us," said senior Rachel DeAngelo. "One through nine everybody can hit and that's a really good advantage for us."

In order to get back to the semis, Windsor must beat Solvay. That game is Friday at 5 p.m. at Union-Endicott.
