Harpursville, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The Harpursville Hornets have started the season 2 and 0, beating two very good teams. But this team knows to reach their ultimate goal, they need to keep improving each week.

After blanking Delhi in week 1, Harpursville shut down Waverly's passing attack in a 28-14 win.

The defense has been especially stingy this year, allowing only one touchdown in the first two games.

The other came on a kickoff return.

Even with the great start, this team is hungry to improve upon last season where they won a division title.

"We set the tone a few years ago. A winning season is a starting point. That's going to be expected. WE have aspirations for the playoffs. We're looking for that next level and like I said, winning a game is not enough. We need to play well and we need to get better each week," says head coach Tim Petras.

"No, we want to be 9 and 0. We want to get to the Carrier Dome at the end of the year but we take it one game at a time. We got this one, that's good, but now we go back to work on Monday, get ready for homecoming, get ready for Seton," says senior Andrew Kimmel.

As Kimmel mentioned, the Hornets face Seton this Saturday, another team with a potent passing attack.

The Saints are coming off a tough loss at Newark Valley this weekend.
