Vestal, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Mariah Ruff's free kick got just enough of Taylor Hitchcock's body to beat the Bronxville goalie in the first half, as that goal stood as the one pushing Oneonta into the girl's soccer state quarterfinals.

The Yellow Jackets topped Bronxville 1-0, beating the Section one champs for the second time in the last three years.

Oneonta moves on to face Spackenkill from Section nine in the quarterfinal round.

Meanwhile, Vestal came up just short against Byram Hills. The Golden Bears fell in the Class A state tournament 2-1 at Binghamton's Alumni Stadium on Tuesday night.

In Class AA, Elmira scored first, but North Rockland was too much. The Express fell 4-1 on Tuesday.
