Vestal, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Joey Sindelar didn't have a golf club in his hands as he helped underprivileged kids on a shopping spree at the Dick's Sporting Goods in Vestal Wednesday, but he wasn't shy about his hopes for next season.

Last year was an up-and-down season for Joey, who was limited after having back surgery near the beginning of the year.

However, despite only playing a handful events before last year's Dick's Open, Sindelar placed 30th, which was his best finish on the Champions Tour last season.

Now though he has higher expectations with his new-look swing and lighter playing weight.

"I think it's time to win, you know. You want to have goals, but you don't want to be burdened with expectations because that just becomes heavy and gets in the way," said Sindelar. "So I want to continue doing which swing things are best for my body, which in turn are luckily very good for my golf swing. So I want to do both of those things first. I'm going to work on my short game, which is how you make more birdies and win tournaments, and if that all results in winning a tournament, I'm ready."

Sindelar added that his coach believes he has the opportunity to be better next year than he's ever been.
