Endicott, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The annual Dick's Sporting Goods Open pro-am took over En-Joie golf course on Wednesday, which allowed us to get a first look at Horseheads native Joey Sindelar this week.

For him, the Dick's Sporting Goods Open might as well be homecoming week.

Fans follow him, nearly everyone knows him, and he even gets to sleep it home. Over the years that has been a good combination for Sindelar, so every year he counts down the days to this event.

"Some guys don't flourish at their home event because there's stuff going on. You're trying to make sure people are happy, you get tickets for them, you know there are tugs and pulls, but there's a lot going on," said Sindelar. "Some guys it just doesn't add up well, but I've had really, really good success here. With a couple of wins at the old BC Open and I think at least a handful of top 10s. So not only do I love it, and I get to see familiar faces, but it has been very, very good to me."

Sindelar tees off at 12:32 on Friday afternoon for the first round. He'll be teeing it up with Morris Hatalsky and Jose Coceres.
