Vestal, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The Binghamton University women's basketball team is losing a player. The Bearcats leading rebounder and second-leading scorer from last season, Jasbriell Swain, is transferring away from the University.

Coach Nicole Scholl said it's in order to move closer to her hometown and transfer to Memphis. She said while it hurts the team, she believes they'll adjust just fine.

"The team's really going to have to step up," said Scholl. "As I said before, with some of our younger players, I think there's a gap to fill, but I think we've got players coming up that'll be able to fill that role, and kind of take it in stride and go from there."

Scholl mentioned that as of now Swain isn't planning on playing next season...just finishing up school for her senior year. If she did decide to play, she would have to sit out a season per NCAA transfer rules.
