Tioga Center, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The last football game Tioga lost was back in the state semifinals last year. The Tigers lost 7-6 to Randolf, losing on a missed two-point conversion that would have won the game.
Since that point not many things have stopped Tioga. The Tigers have scored nearly 40 points a game this season, and they're looking for a third straight Section IV crown.
However, after suffering the disappointment of two straight state semifinal losses, there's no questioning the team's focus.
"Every game up until now really is like it never even happened because we're just getting better as a team, we're growing as a team," said senior Carter Jackson. The only thing on our minds is a section championship right now."
"I haven't heard anything about our record with these kids. It's just one week at a time and their in playoff mode right now," said coach Nick Aiello. "They know it's win or go home. The experience on this team and the playoff experience they have plays dividends at this point in the season because they know what it takes and they know what it takes to win playoff games."
The Tigers take on Unatego in the Class D title game on Saturday afternoon at Alumni Stadium.
