Johnson City, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Not much came easy for Johnson City senior Reggie Williams. When it came down to choose which school he would wrestle for though, Binghamton University helped make for an easier decision.
With his family by his side, Williams signed his letter of intent to join the Bearcats wrestling program on Thursday.
Both his parents have had health problems, with his mother being in the hospital during his run towards a state wrestling title this year.
Those reasons played a big part in Williams picking BU over places like Iowa State, N.C. State and Oklahoma.
"This decision was just awesome," said Williams. "Just realizing that I have a full-ride to go to Binghamton University and I'm really blessed to have that. Without that I don't think I would be this close to home and going to a great school."
Williams says he hopes to be able to help teach or coach kids one day because of how important his coaches were to him getting to this point in his life.
