Claire Kerr is co-anchor of 12 News This Morning. She joined the 12 News team in May 2016 as a reporter. She graduated from Emerson College in May 2015 with a degree in Broadcast Journalism. She also has a degree in Dance from Dean College.
Before coming to WBNG, Claire worked for a year as an associate producer at WPRI 12 Eyewitness News in Providence, Rhode Island. She has also interned at the Boston Herald and Fox 25 Morning News in Boston, Massachusetts. She was involved in covering many breaking news events, including the Boston Marathon Bombing trials.
Claire is from Winthrop, Maine. She likes outdoor activities like kayaking, swimming, hiking and biking. Her favorite color is blue and "Friends" is her favorite TV show. Both of her parents are artists and they run a business together.
Claire went to Maine Central Institute High School where she studied Russian Ballet. She also discovered her passion for news and media there, while working on a school video project where she had the role of news anchor. Writing has always been one of her favorite subjects.
At Emerson College, Claire produced and anchored multiple shows, including "Good Morning Emerson." She was also a reporter for WEBN Boston and covered events like Boston Fashion Week.
Claire enjoys the area of Broome County, and she looks forward to continue meeting the friendly faces of the Southern Tier!
