JOHNSON CITY (WBNG) - Monday afternoon, Johnson City softball senior standout, Alex Hein, signed her National Letter of Intent to play at Mansfield University starting in the Fall of 2017. Joined by her parents, Joseph and Tammie, as well as family and friends, the Wildcats team MVP in 2014 and 2015 and All-Division First Team in 2014 and 2016, is more than ready to play at the collegiate level. The stellar short-stop says she plans to major in mass communications with a focus in public relations.

"It feels great," said Hein. "I've been working at this for nine or ten years. It's just a small school. I feel very safe there. Everybody is nice. They all greeted me. They offered me front and center a spot on the team if I got accepted, so I just felt it'd be the right decision."
