TOWN OF DICKINSON (WBNG) -- More than 600 students put their creativity to the test at the regional Odyssey of the Mind tournament at BOCES on Saturday.
Teams from all over the Southern Tier had two challenges to complete. The first was one they've been practicing for up to eight months together. The second was a "surprise" challenge that they were given just a few minutes to solve. Those challenges pushed the students to work together and innovate.
"You do eventually get frustrated with each other, but that's a given, really, when you're surrounded by the same people for weeks on end, but overall it's good," said one member of a team from Binghamton High School.
The winners move on to the state competition, which happens in early April.
