Cortland Police: Suspicious man who pulled over woman was a police officer
CORTLAND, N.Y. (WBNG) -- The Cortland Police Department was investigating a suspicious vehicle complaint that was reported Wednesday evening.
According to the Cortland Police Department, a woman was driving south on Route 281 near Saint Mary's Cemetery around 7:50 p.m., when she was stopped by a small-sized vehicle displaying red and white flashing lights.
Authorities said the woman did not believe the male was a police officer.
After investigating the incident, Cortland Police said the man is actually a member of law enforcement, but would not specify from what agency. Cortland Police said there is no reason for public concern.
