TOWN OF CHENANGO (WBNG) -- The ALDI grocery store on Upper Front Street celebrated a grand reopening on Thursday.

The company says this ALDI store is the first location in the Binghamton area to undergo a remodeling overhaul.

Director of Operations for ALDI Foods Aaron LeFeyer says he hopes customers enjoy a more convenient and customer-friendly shopping experience.

"The feedback from customers has been overwhelming," LeFeve said. "They love the new store. They love the convenience of the shopping experience. They like everything that they're seeing. We are elated and happy to continue to serve this area with the best quality products that we have."

Officials say the remodeled store has a modern design, an open ceiling and uses environmentally-friendly building materials.

"It's bigger. It's so clean. Everything is laid out nicely. The isles are a little wider, and the people are still very very friendly,"  said Arlene Bigart, a Port Dickinson resident.

The ALDI store also features energy-efficient refrigeration and LED lighting.
