Southern Tier students learn about the didgeridoo

APALACHIN (WBNG) -- The didgeridoo is a wind instrument developed in Australia.

Dozens of students came together at Tioga Hills Elementary School, as demonstrator Chris Webber showed students how the instrument is played.

The lesson tied in with what students are currently learning in their history and music classes.

"I want them to know how the didgeridoo was made, how it's played and what sort of function it has," Webber explained.

The didgeridoo is made out of a eucalyptus tree and wax from bees.
