BINGHAMTON (WBNG) - According to reports, former Syracuse basketball players Andrew White III and Tyler Roberson have signed deals to play in the 2017 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas. According to Cleveland.com, White III has agreed to play in the summer league for the Cleveland Cavaliers. White III spent one season with the Orange as a graduate transfer. He led the team in scoring (18.5 PPG) and knocked down forty percent of his three pointers.
According to Basketball Insiders' Michael Scotto, Roberson will play for the Milwaukee Bucks this summer. Roberson is known for his rebounding but started just six games as a senior.
Former Syracuse basketball player Sonny Spera believes White III could have a productive NBA career.
"That's a shooter, that's just a pure shooter," said former Syracuse basketball player Sonny Spera. "White's a pure shooter. It's amazing. That's a little bit of a specialty, but I think he has shown enough game footage where he can shoot to distance, to lane, with pressure. Probably, they are going to need to see what he can do off the dribble. Is he a one-trick pony? Is he a stand-still spot up shooter? But, you've got guys in the NBA that are that way right now. That are catch-and-shoot three point shooters and they are going to make money."
John Gillon remains unsigned.
