BINGHAMTON (WBNG) - The LG&T Tennis Challenger announced its 2017 field on Wednesday. Australian Jordan Thompson is the top ranked player in this year's tournament. Thompson is ranked 86th in the world and has reached the second round of both the French and Australian opens over the past two years.
Tennys Sandgren leads a group of seven Americans who have received bids into the main draw. Sandgren is ranked 100th. The other six Americans in this year's field are #185 Michael Mmoh, #186 Noah Rubin, #191 Dennis Kudla, #293 Kevin King, #296 Daniel Nguyen and #304 Marcos Giran.
Binghamton sophomore Kushaan Nath is competing in the qualifying rounds for a spot in the challenger. Nath went 25-14 during his freshman season with the Bearcats.

These competitors are once again playing for a shot at a wild card entry into the U.S. Open as the LG&T is part of the U.S. Open Wild Card Challenge. Qualifying rounds begin on Saturday, July 22 with the tournament officially starting Monday, July 24.
