OWEGO (WBNG) --The annual En Plein Air art show kicked off in Owego Sunday morning. It's an outdoor art festival that features local artists and vendors.
The art show started at 10 a.m. in Draper Park. Dozens of community members came out to enjoy the beautiful weather and browse work from several local artists.
The park was transformed into an outdoor gallery featuring jewelry, paintings, along with other artwork and crafts.
The event is sponsored by the Tioga Arts Council. The council has held the art show for about three decades.
Organizers said it's important to support the local artists.
"I think it's very meaningful for local artists because it makes it very easy for them to have a show locally and also just for people to discover what's right in their backyard," Christina Di Stefano, Executive Director of the Tioga Arts Council, said
Many also enjoyed picnic lunches by the gardens in the park.
