Ponies drop opener in Harrisburg

BINGHAMTON (WBNG) - The Harrisburg Senators scored twice in the first inning Thursday night in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and did not trail the entire game, beating the Binghamton Rumble Ponies, 6-4. Binghamton starter Mickey Jannis allowed six runs, all earned, on nine hits in six innings of work. Binghamton scored twice in the seventh inning to cut Harrisburg's lead to two but could not complete the comeback. 

At the plate, Kevin Kaczmarski picked up two hits, a RBI and a run scored in the loss for the Rumble Ponies. Patrick Biondi recorded a pinch-hit double in the ninth to snap his 0-for-21 skid. 

Binghamton (52-41) is back in action in Harrisburg against the Senators Friday night. First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m.
