Damage minimal at En-Joie following storms

ENDICOTT (WBNG) - The 2017 DICK'S Sporting Goods Open tees off Friday, August 18 at the En-Joie Golf Club in Endicott. After two days of storms, En-Joie had some work to do on the course to continue its preparations for the PGA Tour Champions to take over the Southern Tier in August.

There were a few golfers enjoying a round on the course Tuesday afternoon and En-Joie Golf Course Superintendent Anthony Chapman says the damage to the course was minimal.

"The course held up pretty well," said Chapman. "We had a bunch of standing water. We were able to get out and start moving it around, start pumping it out. I think the biggest problem was all of our bunkers washed out. It just seems like we are constantly repairing those, week after week. It takes a good two-or-three days to get them all back in playing condition."

The course closes to the public on Saturday, August 5.
