Gsellman returns to Binghamton Thursday for rehab assignment

Posted: Updated:

BINGHAMTON (WBNG) - Former Binghamton Mets pitcher Robert Gsellman will return to Binghamton on Thursday night for a rehab assignment with the Rumble Ponies. The 24 year-old right-hander was a member of the B-Mets for parts of the 2015 and 2016 seasons. Gsellman made his major league debut for New York in 2016 and started this season with the Mets. He has a 9-7 record in 21 big league starts.

Gsellman will pitch in relief for the Ponies on Thursday night. He will return to the mound exactly one month to the day he suffered a strained left hamstring that forced him to the disabled list.

Binghamton welcomes New Hampshire to NYSEG Stadium Thursday night. First pitch is set for 6:35 p.m.
