BINGHAMTON (WBNG) - Tim Tebow has been outstanding since his promotion to the St. Lucie Mets. Tebow is hitting .315 with four home runs and a .400 OBP in his first 28 games at the High A Level. The former quarterback has also tallied 16 RBI, 12 runs scored and a stolen base with St. Lucie.
One of Tebow's former teammates in St. Lucie, Tyler Bashlor, is now on the Binghamton Rumble Ponies. Bashlor is a relief pitcher who made his debut for Binghamton Monday night. He experience all the Tebow magic in St. Lucie and says Tebow added a lot of fun to the ball park.
"(In) St. Lucie, we averaged probably 700 fans, if that," said Bashlor. "I think we got on our opening night with him, 3,500 to 4,000 (in attendance). He's an awesome guy. He's very polite. Just a super nice guy. He works hard everyday. He shows up to the field early. He's earned his spot."
